New Month, New Project, New Blog - My first 30 in 30!!!

I found myself in a bit of a painting slump last month.  In an effort to jump-start my painting year I've committed to my very first 30 in 30.  What's that?  I'll be joining a group of artists and painting one [small] painting per day beginning today and finishing up March 2.  It's a big commitment but it will push me in a couple of important ways:

1. I'll be adding short blog posts daily
2. I'll be painting daily
3. I'll have to paint fast which forces me to be looser and doesn't allow my "fuss, fuss, fuss" to take over :)
4. To accomplish all of this I will need to be organized in other ways and the end result should be more discipline and a lot of fun.  New habits!!!  

So, here goes...  first up is a beautiful flamingo.  This is a Calgary Zoo flamingo I've nostalgically named "Cal".  I've given him a brighter colour and a sharp background to help his gorgeousness shine.  I hope you enjoy!
