I decided to paint this lovely old barn in watercolour. It’s based on a photo I took last fall west of Marwayne, Alberta. I love poking around in the country, looking for reference material for painting. It brings me back to my farm girl roots and so many great memories. Hope you enjoy!

This is Brooklyn, my almost two year old granddaughter. Today she gave me a wonderful compliment when I made a mark on her painting. “Cute” she squealed! So entertaining :)
I took Brooklyn to the art supply store and we picked up some yupo to play with. This green and yellow sheet is puddling nicely and the green is granulating in ways I love. Happy weekend! This little finch sketch cheered me up considerably! I’m just back from a massage and, unfortunately I’m going to have to cut back a bit on painting time for a bit. Look for more watercolour sketches over the next few days while we see if the inflammation in my painting arm settles down. Cheers!
Today I played around with watercolour for a while. I enjoy the clear, bright colours I can get in this medium. This flyer is pure imagination of course. Enjoy!
