I put together this abstract which, for me, evokes memories of the light enjoyed by the residents at Takayama Beach Company on sunny summer days. I hope it makes you think of summer too!
I’ve just returned from spending 3 weeks beach-side, surrounded by the jungle in Japan. It was wonderful to spend time with our daughter and her family there.

I took my imagination on a summer excursion to the beach this weekend and this is the result. There are a few refinements I will be making before complete but I love these colours and the feel of this so far. Enjoy!
Monoprinting... my most recent obsession and pastime. I scored some feathers at one of our local second hand stores and used them to mask and print the image below. It’s so relaxing to set up and pull these prints... I have stacks and stacks :) is started this abstract today and, although it needs quite a bit more work, I’m enjoying the direction it is taking. I hope your enjoying your Saturday!
This is Brooklyn, my almost two year old granddaughter. Today she gave me a wonderful compliment when I made a mark on her painting. “Cute” she squealed! So entertaining :)
I took Brooklyn to the art supply store and we picked up some yupo to play with. This green and yellow sheet is puddling nicely and the green is granulating in ways I love. Happy weekend! |
